About Us

Maharashtra Police, with the strength around two lacks Police Personnel is known for its professionalism and efficiency. To keep it that way is the mantle of the Training Directorate. Training Directorate has 10 Police training centers (P.T.C.) for training of newly recruited Police Constables & Maharashtra Police Training Academy, Nashik (M.P.A.) for training newly inducted Police Officers. In addition, there is Detective Training School at Nashik (D.T.S.), which imparts In-service Training for Investigation to Head Constables and Assistant Sub Inspectors.

Our task is to train the force to take up new challenges in Policing. In this endeavor we look for constant up-gradation of skills and techniques. The Training Directorate is headed by Additional Director General of police along with Inspector General of Police at Police Head Quarter, Mumbai. All PTCs and DTS are headed by Superintendent of Police level officers designated as Principals.

Vision / Goals

To train Maharashtra police with constant up-gradation of methodology and techniques so as to enable Maharashtra Police to serve citizens in better way and to adopt dynamic approach towards teaching with aim to increase efficiency of the Police force.
